Extreme Programming Values - Respect

Respect manifests itself in Agile Software Development as the way team members treat one another. They are constantly striving to produce the best possible product based on what they know at any given time. "Team" in this context isn't simply the programmers and their supervisors, but the entire community of people involved in a project. Any change will make most if not all of the team members uncomfortable in one way or another, and this must be recognized and accommodated as much as possible during the transition.

Strong, positive, respectful leadership is also required for effective agile teams.
